Part L Appendix B gives a list of photographs that will be required at final sign-off, it states that every dwelling on a site must have a full set of required thermal junction photographs to support the psi values given in the SAP Calculations, these must then be kept for a recommended 15 years, this will mean that millions of photographs will require digital storage as we move forward. Secure storage is important to keep this information safe, we have provided an upload and storage system to cover the requirements.
Because the images must be digital it allows for multiple photographs to be taken of each junction, remember, the more you take the easy it will be to provide a clear, correctly positions image for the final EPC request. We are working on 2 apps one for Android and another for IOS that will enable the user to take a photograph with all the required information embedded into the picture automatically. These will be available very soon, and will be free to use for anyone using our data storage service.
We are working with a team of software developers on an AI system that will be able to help you take the correct image for each junction, more information will be available soon and anyone using our apps will automatically receive updates. While currently Appendix B is seen as a bit of an inconvenience we believe that not far down the line it will cause a lot of problems for developers and house builders, issues that arise at the completion stage can cost a lot of money to rectify, we want to help you avoid that, we will continue to develop our offering and will ensure it is the easiest system to use for even the most IT fearing users.
